About

A self-taught queer artist specializing in dragons, furries, monsters, and other creatures. I enjoy the strange and macabre, and I’ve always found fantasy beasts to be more interesting than people. The Wings of Fire book series really got me into drawing dragons when I was in 5th grade, and since then they’ve just… stuck around! Nowadays though, most of my work is meant for adults.I am strictly pro-fiction and against censorship in art. I believe in the freedom to enjoy what you want and block what you don’t, and I will not get along with those who harass and threaten over artwork they don’t like.If you want to contact me, my Discord (vantabats) will give you the quickest response!

For already existing character designs. Comes with one flat full body, color palette, your choice of an extra headshot or NSFW bits, and any annotations.

“Artist:” Me, “Vantabats.”I. GENERAL CONDUCT
1. All parties are expected to communicate clearly, politely, and in a timely manner that allows smooth progression of the commission.
2. The Client is expected to provide all clear and relevant resource material before the Artist begins illustrating.II. PAYMENT
1. The client is expected to provide full payment up front via PayPal or Stripe invoice, which will be emailed. For commissions over $200 USD, a 50/50 split payment plan may be discussed as needed by the Client.
2. Payment must be provided within 48 hours of the invoice being sent. Failure to pay within this timeframe may result in cancellation of the commission.
3. Payment is accepted in USD.III. GENERAL WORK PROCESS
1. Turnout time of the completed work is generally expected to be 1-2 weeks, though time may vary and the work can be finished sooner. In most scenarios, the Artist will never take more than 30 days on a commission.
2. Sketching begins after the discussed payment has been received. The Artist will periodically send work-in-progress shots of the work, and whenever requested by the Client within reason.
3. Should any outside circumstances delay the completion of the work, the Artist will inform the Client.
4. Upon completion of the work, the Client will receive a full resolution PNG of the artwork via Google Drive, and the commission will be considered finished. The Artist will not provide program/separate layer files.
5. The Client acknowledges and accepts that they are paying for a digital product, and so no physical goods will be delivered.IV. REVISIONS
1. Revisions may be requested in the sketching phase of the work.
2. A maximum of 3 revisions are granted during the sketching phase. Further revisions will result in additional fees proportional to the workload.
3. Revisions requested in later phases of the work may be denied or immediately given an additional charge, unless they are requested due to a mistake by the Artist (such as forgetting an important marking on a character).
4. The Artist’s style may not always align with the style of the provided character reference. The Artist will not match the art style of the reference on a 1:1 basis, but rather interpret the character to match the Artist’s own style, i.e. heavily cartoony characters may be drawn in a more semi-realistic style.V. CANCELLATION + REFUND POLICY
1. Both Artist and Client reserve the right to cancel the commission at any time.
2. In the event of a cancellation, a refund will be issued proportional to the amount of work left on the commission.
a. A 75% refund will be issued during the sketching phase. A 50% refund will be issued during the lining phase. A 25% refund will be issued during the coloring phase. No refund is available after the coloring phase, as the work is close to completion at that point.
b. If outside circumstances in the Artist’s life result in cancellation of the work, these commissions may be refunded in full.
3. In the event that the Client, unexcused, fails to respond or communicate and halts the commission progress for over 30 days, the work will be considered finished with no refund.
4. If a commission is cancelled for any reason, the Artist reserves the right to reuse assets of the artwork for future works. In some circumstances, this will not happen and the Artist will instead provide the Client with files of what had been completed so far of the commission.
5. Should the Client force a chargeback, they will be publicly blacklisted and automatically lose any and all bestowed rights to the artwork or character design.VI. COPYRIGHT + USAGE
1. The Artist reserves full rights to the work produced.
2. The provided artwork may not be modified by anyone other than the Artist without the Artist’s explicit permission.
3. Under no circumstances may the Artist’s signature be removed or cropped out of the provided artwork.
4. All commissions are for personal use only unless otherwise agreed upon. Commercial licenses may be discussed and granted for an additional fee.
5. Commercial use is automatically granted to custom character designs, but NOT to the specific artwork drawn by the Artist, i.e. the Client may not commercialize the reference sheet, but may design and sell their own merch of the character design.
6. The Artist will use any commissioned work in portfolios, advertisements, and across social media. A fully private commission can be granted with an additional 30% charge.
7. Under no circumstances may the Artist’s work be used to train AI.

By commissioning the Artist, Vantabats, the Client hereby agrees to these terms.
